Multimedia Nusantara University (UMN) has once again held its annual Mentoring UMN 2024 program with the theme "Reveal Your Capability Within a Purposeful Quest." This program aims to help new students (Mentees) uncover and develop their self-potential within the context of university life, based on the 5C values of UMN: Caring, Credible, Competent, Competitive, dan Customer Delight.
Goal and Theme of Mentoring 2024
The theme "Reveal Your Capability Within a Purposeful Quest" was chosen to encourage Mentees to showcase and hone the abilities they possess, and to guide them in achieving meaningful life goals. The tagline “Reveal, Refine, Radiate” is used as a motivator for the Mentees to realize their purpose in life.
Program
The Mentoring 2024 program is structured with an interactive and applicative approach. Each week, Mentees are invited to venture into a 'new world' corresponding to the 5C value being studied. The material is delivered through an engaging storyline, so it doesn't come across as theoretical and formal, making the new students feel more involved and enjoy the learning process.
Implementation of the 5C Values
In addition to the material delivery, Mentees are also given practical assignments that require them to implement the 5C values in their daily lives. One example is the creation of a booklet containing examples of daily attire that complies with campus regulations, which is then assessed directly by UMN officials. This aims for Mentees to be able to understand and genuinely apply these values in university life.
Collaboration and Partnership
This Mentoring program also emphasizes the importance of collaboration and partnership, in line with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) number 17, which is Partnerships for the Goals. Mentees are encouraged to work together and support each other in developing their self-potential, thereby creating an inclusive and productive learning environment.
Hopes and Impact
Through the UMN Mentoring 2024 program, it is hoped that the Mentees can adapt well to university life, understand and apply the UMN 5C values, and be able to uncover and develop their self-potential. Furthermore, the program is also expected to strengthen relationships between students, creating a solid and supportive campus community.
